What’s Wrong With Chromecast Devices?
There seems to be a widespread issue affecting some Chromecast models worldwide. Many users are experiencing problems mirroring content to their devices. Specifically, when trying to cast a video or other content from a phone to a TV using Chromecast, it simply doesn’t work.
Additionally, users are also unable to access the device’s settings through the Google Home app, which is typically used for managing Chromecast devices. It feels as though the devices have completely stopped functioning.
Users are encountering error messages, even though it was working previously. One error message says, “Untrusted device: [name] couldn’t be verified.” In some instances, the alert suggests an outdated firmware version as the cause of the problem.
What Chromecast Devices Are Experiencing Issues?
This issue seems to be impacting older Chromecast models, such as the second generation and Chromecast Audio. Newer models, like Google TV and Chromecast Ultra, don’t seem to be experiencing any issues.
How to Fix Chromecast Issues
Unfortunately, there’s currently no solution to the Chromecast issue. Common troubleshooting methods, such as resetting or rebooting the device, aren’t fixing the issue. As such, your Chromecast will remain non-functional, and no immediate fixes are available.
