Lenovo recently showcased its new products and innovations at MWC 2025. The Chinese company has refreshed its Yoga Pro range, along with the ThinkPad E14 and E16, the T series, the X series, the Yoga series, the 2-in-1 laptops, and the IdeaPad.
While these updates may not be surprising, Lenovo also revealed some intriguing proof-of-concept devices. Among them is the ThinkBook “codename Flip” AI PC (also known as the ThinkBook Flip), a conceptual laptop that elevates the idea of foldable displays.
A folding display. The ThinkBook Flip continues the legacy of Lenovo’s previous concept laptops, including the ThinkBook Transparent Laptop Concept and the ThinkPad X1 Fold. Having previously introduced a transparent laptop and a foldable Windows display, it was a natural progression for Lenovo to integrate this technology into a more conventional-looking laptop.

At first glance, the ThinkBook Flip resembles a traditional laptop. However, it conceals an impressive 18.1-inch OLED display that folds outward. The display is positioned where the lid of a typical laptop would close, and the hinge is located along the edge of the lid.
Options everywhere. The first and most straightforward option is to use the laptop as a regular 13-inch device. However, the interesting part comes into play when using the folding panel:
- You can fold it up to create a vertical 18.1-inch monitor, which is ideal for programmers or extensive typing.
- You can duplicate the screen on the back, allowing someone else to see what you’re doing on an equivalent 12.9-inch display.
- You can simply close the laptop and use the folded screen as if it were a 12.8-inch tablet.

As such, the hinge area serves as a tactile, functional screen. In fact, sliding to one side allows you to project your display onto the rear screen. Lenovo has made sure there are no loose ends with this technology.
A playful touchpad. In addition to its standard function, Lenovo’s new touchpad can display a numeric keypad to use as a calculator and icons for sound and brightness control. This seemingly simple implementation is quite useful.

Further details. The ThinkBook Flip is impressively slim, at just 0.67 inches thick and weighing only 1.4 kilograms. It’s powered by an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor, 32 GB of LPDDR5x RAM, and PCIe SSD storage. However, this unique laptop is currently a concept and hasn’t been made available to the market. In fact, Lenovo hasn’t announced any details regarding its launch or availability.
