Google wants to dominate the AI landscape. It has a significant advantage over most of its competitors: a well-established ecosystem. The rollout of its AI system, Gemini, initially started on Android-based phones, but plans are in place to expand beyond that.
The company announced on Tuesday that Gemini’s features will soon be available on other Android products. This further demonstrates how Google’s traditional assistant is gradually transitioning into an AI chatbot.
For instance, Wear OS-based smartwatches will allow users to interact directly with the assistant to set alarms and reminders.

Thanks to Gemini’s integration with Google apps, users will be able to ask questions about data from these services. For example, you can inquire, “What was the name of the restaurant Mike recently mentioned in Gmail?” and receive a concise answer displayed on your watch screen. This feature will be available on devices such as the Pixel Watch and Samsung Galaxy Watch.
The company is also introducing Gemini to Android Auto. The commands that users previously used with Google Assistant will now be enhanced by Gemini’s ability to understand natural language. Google claims that this will allow drivers to focus on the road rather than worrying about how to phrase their questions.
In the car, naturally interacting with Gemini will also provide access to exciting features. For instance, you can ask it to find gas stations along your route that are also near a park if you want to stop for a walk.

The integration with Google services will allow Gemini to summarize messages or emails you receive on your phone. It’ll also translate them and offer simple, voice-based responses. Additionally, it can provide you with news summaries and documents you need to review before an upcoming meeting.
For users with Android TV, Gemini will also extend its capabilities to this platform. For example, you can use the chatbot to ask for recommendations on kid-friendly action movies and receive direct suggestions through voice interaction.

Moreover, the TV can function as a large mobile screen. Just like on a computer or phone, you can engage with Gemini to ask any question, with a particular emphasis on delivering results in the form of YouTube videos.
Finally, Google announced that Gemini will also be incorporated into Android XR, the operating system the company is developing in partnership with Samsung for headsets and glasses.
This interaction is particularly intriguing because it provides a powerful way to access information, answers, and content directly through voice commands. For example, Gemini will be capable of planning a vacation by surrounding you with videos, maps, and insights about local culture, as well as suggesting a travel itinerary.
Google is planning a gradual but comprehensive rollout of Gemini, which will also be available on headphones from manufacturers such as Sony and Samsung. Samsung has already announced its integration with the Galaxy Buds.
While there are no specific dates for this deployment, Google’s ambition is clear. The company wants you to be able to communicate naturally with all your devices whenever you need to.
