CMF, a sub-brand of Nothing, launched a new mid-range phone on Monday: the CMF Phone 2 Pro. The company hopes to make a significant impact with the new model. It also aims to offer a competitive option among brands offering solid proposals below $300.
CMF has successfully introduced a $279 phone featuring a large AMOLED screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate. The CMF Phone 2 Pro also uses a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro processor and a triple camera setup with a telephoto lens.

A Look at the CMF Phone 2 Pro

Detachable back cover. Like its predecessor, the CMF Phone 2 Pro features a removable back designed for customization rather than repair. It boasts a clean, industrial design that’s both elegant and fun. Despite being a large phone, it’s relatively compact, measuring 0.31 inches thick and weighing 6.53 ounces.
Notable features include an IP54 rating for water and dust resistance and the option to add accessories such as a magnetic wallet or a lanyard.
Impressive display. The phone’s display seems outstanding for its price range, at least on paper. The device has a 6.77-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED panel that supports HDR10+. It also reaches a peak brightness of 3,000 nits and offers a refresh rate of 120 Hz. While I’ll need to test the display for real-world performance, it looks like one of the best screens available in its category.

Powerful performance. Under the hood, CMF has chosen the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro 5G chipset, which is built on a four-nanometer process by TSMC. The phone also comes with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage.
The phone is packed with AI features such as Essential Key and Space, which it inherits from the Nothing Phone (3a) and (3a Pro). It’s also equipped with a 5,000 mAh battery. It supports 33 W fast charging and provides 5 W wired reverse charging.
Android. The CMF Phone 2 Pro runs on Nothing OS 3.2, based on Android 15. It’s committed to providing three years of Android updates and six years of security patches. As such, users can expect to enjoy features up to Android 18. While this may not be the highest level of support in the market, it’s an attractive option considering the device’s affordability and range.

Telephoto is here. Notably, the CMF Phone 2 Pro includes optical zoom, a feature typically found only in high-end models. The new CMF phone offers a 50 MP main camera, a 13 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50 MP telephoto sensor with 2x optical zoom.
While the phone’s zoom may not be the most powerful available tool, it clearly intends to provide advanced photography options even at a lower price point.
CMF Phone 2 Pro’s Price and Availability

The CMF Phone 2 Pro costs $279. It’s now available to pre-order, and official sales will begin on May 6. The device comes in four colors: orange, gray, and black.
