iRobot returns with a new addition to its most advanced line. The Roomba Max 705 Vac brings an impressive 13,000 pascals of suction power—the highest ever in a model from the brand. That’s 180 times stronger than models from the 600 series, a long-standing and popular line in iRobot’s catalog.

The American manufacturer, which held acquisition talks with Amazon that ultimately didn’t move forward, now highlights suction power as a key advantage. Still, the competition isn’t standing still. The Roborock Qrevo Curv hits 18,500 pascals, while the Dreame X50 Ultra Complete tops out at 20,000 pascals.

Does More Power Mean Better Cleaning?

More power often leads to better performance on carpets and with pet hair. iRobot says the Roomba Max 705 Vac is built for those conditions. It combines powerful suction with dual anti-tangle rubber brushes that adapt to different floor types and maintain close contact with the surface. It also includes a corner and edge brush, plus Carpet Boost technology that automatically detects rugs and ramps up performance.

The Roomba Max 705 Vac has also advanced in navigation and object detection. It features an AI-powered camera to avoid common obstacles like cables and socks, along with ClearView Pro LiDAR technology that accurately maps your home—even at night. The Dirt Detect system identifies high-debris areas and runs extra cleaning passes when needed.

Those seeking a model with mopping or wet-cleaning features will need to look elsewhere in iRobot’s catalog. This model doesn’t include a mop or system for cleaning wet spots.

The Roomba Max 705 really shines when it comes to smart features. It connects to the new Roomba Home app, which allows users to schedule cleanings by room or area, choose between four power levels, and enable extra passes. You can also start the robot via on-device controls or voice commands. It supports Alexa, Google Home, and—later this year—Apple Home through the Matter standard.

Roomba Max 705 Auto Empty Base

As expected from a high-end model, it comes with an Auto-Empty base. This self-emptying system stores dust and debris for up to 75 days in a sealed bag, preventing particles from reentering the air. Design-wise, iRobot sticks to its familiar sleek lines and modern finishes.

Pricing and Availability of the Roomba Max 705 Vac

The Roomba Max 705 Vac is now available for pre-order at $899.99, with deliveries expected in one to two weeks.
